Shreveport Forward Fink makes NCAA Commitment

The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Charlie Fink has committed to play NCAA hockey for Milwaukee School of Engineering in the NCHA.

The 6’2 righty from Ontario, Canada, is heading to skate with the Raiders in Wisconsin. Fink is a first-year skater in the NAHL. He started his year with the Elmira Aviators before being acquired by the Mudbugs in late January. While in Elmira, the 21-year-old hit the ice in 36 games, tallying eight goals and 15 assists for the East Division team. Fink laced up in 20 games with Shreveport where he found the back of the net three times and produced four assists. One of his goals was the decider in a contest, while one goal was scored on the man advantage. 

The 6’2 forward was named as a Top Prospect on the undefeated Selects Black roster at this year’s Top Prospects Tournament at the USA Hockey Arena. Fink will also be heading to the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a fellow NAHL player, Nick Comfort, from the Aberdeen Wings.

Head Coach of the Mudbugs, Jason Campbell, explains his excitement for Fink and his next step in his hockey playing career. 

“Charlie is going to do great things on and off the ice. He’s a great skating power forward who can rip the puck. He’s hard to defend because of his size, speed, and ability to attack open ice.  His confidence keeps growing and he’s going to continue to develop by leaps and bounds. He also has the brains to go along with his hockey ability. I’m excited to see how he performs on the ice and in the classroom.”

Fink is one of seven members of the Shreveport Mudbugs to make a college hockey commitment.
