Springfield Forward McClelland makes NCAA Commitment

The Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Jagur McClelland has committed to play NCAA hockey for Utica University in the UCHC.
The 6’0 lefty from Havertown, Pennsylvania will head to New York to play with the Pioneers in the fall. McClelland is a third-year veteran of the Jr. Blues. This past season he featured a team-leading 22 goals for Springfield. In his 59 games played he tallied 18 assists and scored the second-most points on his roster. Eight of his 22 goals were scored on the man advantage and five were named as the game-winning goal in contests. This past season he was named as a Top Prospect on the Midwest Division team at the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament.
In his sophomore season with the Jr. Blues, the 21-year-old laced up in 50 games, tallying three goals and nine assists. McClelland’s debut featured him hitting the ice in 26 games, finding the back of the net twice, and producing two assists.
The 6’0 forward will join Alex German from the Colorado Grit and Salvatore Cerrato from the Danbury Hat Tricks this upcoming fall in New York.

McClelland is one of seven members of the Springfield Jr. Blues to make a college hockey commitment.
