Aberdeen Forward Tishkevich makes NCAA Commitment

The Aberdeen Wings of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Nikolai Tishkevich has committed to play NCAA hockey for Neumann University in the MAC.

The 5’11 lefty from Minsk, Belarus will skate with the Knights in the fall in Aston, Pennsylvania. Tishkevich is a third-year veteran of the Wings and this past season he hit the ice in 40 games. The ‘04 forward tallied 17 goals and 14 assists. Four of his goals were the decider this year and two goals were scored on the power play. 

In his second season as a Wing, Tishkevich laced up in 58 games where he found the back of the net 21 times and produced 19 assists. Seven of his goals were scored on the man advantage and two were game-winning goals. His debut season had him hitting the ice in 59 games where he scored 20 goals and made 23 assists. 

Before playing in the NAHL, he played for Team Belarus’ U18 squad, where he had 15 goals and 21 assists in 40 games played. The year prior, he scored 12 goals and added 20 assists in 41 games playing for Belarus’ U17 team.

Tishkevich went into detail on what it means to continue his hockey playing career.

“I am very proud and honored to announce my commitment to further my education and play DIII Hockey at Neumann University. I would like to thank my friends, family, coaches, and teammates who helped me along the way.”

Head Coach and General Manager of the Wings, Scott Langer shares his excitement for Tishkevich.

“Nikolai will be missed after three seasons here. He is a high character who always puts work first. Niko will be a successful person in both hockey and life.”

Tishkevich is one of ten members of the Aberdeen Wings to make a college hockey commitment.
