Corpus Christi Announces Coaching Change

The Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American Hockey League are pleased to announce the hiring of Kevin St. Jacques as the organization’s ninth head coach.

Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, St. Jacques will be the next bench boss for the IceRays. He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks following his four years of playing juniors in the Western Hockey League. He skated with the Spokane Chiefs for a year and a half before finishing his junior career with the Lethbridge Hurricanes for three and a half seasons. St. Jacques was the top scorer in the WHL in his final season. He produced a league-leading 65 goals and 140 total points. St. Jacques notched 75 assists and featured 1.97 points per game.

Following his time playing juniors, he spent 16 years playing professional hockey amongst a handful of leagues. He played in the International Hockey League (IHL), United Hockey League (UHL), ECHL, British Hockey League (BHL), West Coast Hockey League (WCHL) and Central Hockey League (CHL).

The Edmonton native transitioned into coaching and has eleven years of experience of coaching hockey at both the junior and professional levels. St. Jacques just finished serving as a coach for the Mercer Chiefs this past season.

St. Jacques shares his excitement to join the IceRays.
