Shreveport Goaltender Goich makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that goaltender Nikola Goich has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for UMass Lowell in the Hockey East.
The 6’5 netminder from Homer Glen, Illinois will be playing in the blue paint with the Riverhawks in the fall. Goich is a fourth-year goaltender in the NAHL. He has spent the last three seasons with the Mudbugs. This past season he played 42 games with Shreveport. Between the pipes, Goich features a 2.19 goals against average, a .925 save percentage, and five shutouts. With the 21-year-old in the net, the Mudbugs have notched 24 wins this season. This season he was named as a 2025 Top Prospect for the South Division team.
Last season, the Illinois native hit the ice for 19 games for the Mudbugs. He spotlighted a 2.45 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. Three of his games ended in a shutout performance while notching 10 wins for Shreveport. In his sophomore season in the league, he laced up in nine games and featured a 1.25 goals against average and .946 save percentage.
His rookie season had him hitting the ice for the Austin Bruins. He got the opportunity to play between the pipes in six games for the Central Division team.

Goich is the fourth member of the Shreveport Mudbugs to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
