Shreveport Defenseman Nichol makes NCAA Commitment

The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Foster Nichol has committed to play NCAA hockey for Buffalo State University in the SUNYAC.
Nichol is a third-year blueliner for the Mudbugs and in the fall he will be skating with the Bengals in Buffalo, New York. The Brentwood, Tennessee native is a 6’1 righty and has laced up for 59 games with Shreveport this season. He found the back of the net twice and produced 13 assists this year. The ‘04 defenseman features a +11 rating on the year. Last season, the Tennessee native suited up in 19 games, tallying one goal and two assists for the Louisiana team. He made his NAHL debut in the 2022-2023 season with an appearance in four games for the Mudbugs.
Head Coach of the Mudbugs, Jason Campbell, explains the impact that Foster has had on the team.
“Foster will be missed at George’s Pond this coming season but we are very excited for the opportunity he has at Buffalo State. Foster is so reliable that you can count on him to help and contribute in any situation on or off the ice. He is a great all-around player with a great personality that is easy to love.”
Nichol is the fifth member of the Shreveport Mudbugs to make a college hockey commitment.
