El Paso Forward Arias makes NCAA Commitment

The El Paso Rhinos of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Kyle Arias has committed to play NCAA hockey for St. Mary’s University in the MIAC.
A second-year veteran of the Rhinos, Arias will be heading to skate with the Cardinals in Winona, Minnesota in the fall. The 6’0 lefty is from Orland Park, Illinois. This season the ‘05 forward laced up in 59 games for the Rhinos. He tallied 11 goals while making 23 assists. Three of his goals were scored on the man advantage and had two goals named as the decider in the contest. Arias led his team in assists (23) while ranking third in total points (34).
Last season, the Illinois native split time between the El Paso Rhinos’ NAHL and NAH3L teams. With the NAHL team, he hit the ice in 29 contests, found the back of the net four times, and produced six assists. During his time with the NA3HL team, he laced up in 20 games. In those contests, he tallied 12 goals and made 24 assists.
Head coach of the Rhinos, Mike Rivera, shares what he has seen from Arias this season.
“We are excited for Kyle. He took a huge step last season and played an integral role in our lineup, playing in all situations. His speed is such a factor on the ice and his 200-foot game is consistently improving. We will miss Kyle in El Paso this season, but know he will be successful at NCAA level.”
Arias is one of six members of the El Paso Rhinos to make a college ice hockey commitment.
