Philadelphia Defenseman Vaites makes NCAA Commitment

May 29, 2025

The Philadelphia Rebels of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Ryan Vaites has committed to play NCAA hockey for Endicott College in the CNE.

Vaites is a second-year veteran of the Rebels who will be heading to Massachusetts to play with the Gulls in the fall. The ‘04 lefty suited up in 57 games this season. He found the back of the net six times while producing 18 assists. In his debut season, the Mullica Hill, New Jersey native laced up in 51 contests. The 6’1 lefty tallied three goals and 15 assists for the Rebels.

Head coach of the Rebels, Justin Hale, shares his excitement for Vaites’ next step.

“I am excited for Ryan to take this next step in his hockey career. He has shown great resilience and determination to get to this point, all the while continuing to be a good teammate. I look forward to big things ahead for him!”

Vaites is one of nine members of the Philadelphia Rebels to make a college ice hockey commitment.
