The Minnesota Mallards of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Lucas Cernohous has committed to play NCAA hockey for St. Mary’s University in the MIAC.
The 5’10 righty hailing from the State of Hockey will be skating with the Cardinals in the fall. Cernohous started his season with the Colorado Grit and laced up in 33 contests and produced five assists before being acquired by the Mallards. In his 20 games played with the Minnesota team, he found the back of the net once and produced an assist. His NAHL debut happened in the 2023-2024 season where he played in one game with the New Mexico Ice Wolves.
Cernohous shares his enthusiasm for joining the program.
“I’m incredibly excited to begin this next chapter of my hockey and academic journey. I’m beyond grateful to my family, coaches, teammates, and friends whose support has helped make this possible.”
Cernohous is the sixth member of the Minnesota Mallards to make a college hockey commitment.
