Colorado Defenseman German makes NCAA Commitment

May 27, 2025

The Colorado Grit of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Alexander German has committed to play NCAA hockey for Utica University in the UCHC.

Second-year skater of the Grit, German, will be heading up to New York to play with the Pioneers. The 6’0 lefty is the top goal scorer for defensemen on his roster. He has found the back of the net 11 times this season while producing 16 assists. Seven of his 11 goals were scored on the man advantage and two of them were the game-winning goal. German was also named as a 2025 Top Prospect for the South Division team in the Top Prospects Tournament at the USA Hockey Arena.

Last season, the Colorado native laced up in 51 contests for the team. He found the back of the net eight times while producing eight assists with three of his eight goals being scored on the power play.

German is one of twelve members of the Colorado Grit to make a college ice hockey commitment.
