New Hampshire Defenseman Quast makes NCAA DI Commitment

May 22, 2025

The New Hampshire Mountain Kings of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Thomas Quast has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Army West Point in the Atlantic.

The 19-year-old reigning from the State of Hockey will be heading to play with the Black Knights in the fall of 2026. Quast is a 6’3 blueliner that played this past season with the Mountain Kings. He laced up in 57 contests, finding the back of the net seven times while producing 27 assists. One of his seven goals was the decider in a contest and three of his goals were scored on the man advantage. The ‘05 blueliner features a +19 rating on the year and made his NAHL debut last season with the Chippewa Steel. He suited up for one contest with the Wisconsin team.

Quast shared his excitement about joining the program on social media.

“I am very blessed and honored to announce my commitment to West Point to further my education, play Division I hockey, and serve my country. I would like to thank God, my parents, my brothers, coaches, and friends for helping me along the way and making this possible.”

Head coach of the Mountain Kings, Cam Robichaud, shares his excitement for Quast’s next step in his hockey career.

"We are extremely proud of Thomas. In just his first season in the NAHL, he was able to gain the interest of several schools! Thomas was our rookie of the year playing in all situations and played a huge role in helping our program reach its first playoff appearance in only our second year of existence. I am excited to watch Thomas compete at the NCAA DI level."

Quast is the fifth member of the New Hampshire Mountain Kings to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
