Minot Defenseman Mahler makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Minot Minotauros of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Adam Mahler has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Stonehill College.
Third-year skater of the Minotauros, Mahler, will be flying high with the Skyhawks in the fall. The 6’1 blueliner leads all defensemen on his squad in goals (16), assists (33), and a plus-minus rating (+26). The Ancaster, Ontario native was named Defenseman of the Month in December for his work on the ice. Mahler was also selected as a 2025 Top Prospect for the Central Division squad at the Top Prospects Tournament. This season, three of his 16 goals were the decider in the contest and five of his goals scored were done on the man advantage. Mahler also holds the franchise record with 46 total points in a season for blueliners.
Last season, the 6’1 righty tallied nine goals while making 18 assists in 67 games played for Minotauros. One of his nine goals was named as the game-winning goal in the matchup and he featured a +26 rating on the season. During his rookie season in the NAHL, the ‘04 righty laced up in 54 contests with Minot. He found the back of the net six times, made nine assists, and spotlighted a +27 rating on the year.
Mahler shared his excitement about joining the program on social media.
“I am extremely proud to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey and further my education at Stonehill. Thanks to all my family, coaches, and teammates who have helped me along the way!”
Head coach of the Minotauros, Cody Campbell, shares his excitement for Mahler’s next step in his hockey playing career.
"We are very excited for Adam and his family. Adam's commitment to Stonehill to play Division I college hockey is a culmination of his three years here in Minot. He has grown significantly during his time here and I am confident he will make a quick impact on and off the ice when he arrives on Stonehill's campus.”
Campbell continues and shares more about the type of athlete Mahler will be for the Stonehill College program.
"The Skyhawks are getting a hard-nosed two-way defenseman that can defend and play important minutes on the penalty kill as well as someone that can create offense through his ability to move the puck and get what is an extremely heavy shot to the net.”
Mahler is the sixth member of the Minot Minotauros to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
