The Elmira Aviators of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Jett Otwell has committed to play NCAA hockey for Curry College in the CNE.
The Frisco, Texas native is heading to the Northeast to skate with the Colonels in Milton, Massachusetts. Curry College made a deep postseason run and was part of the Semifinal Round of the Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Championship. The 6’0 lefty has played games over three seasons in the NAHL. This season he has laced up in 53 matchups for the Aviators and tallied 14 goals and 16 assists. Otwell ranked second on his roster with those 16 assists and sat fourth overall with his 30 total points on the season. The Texan was vital in crucial moments in games this season because four of his goals were game-winning goals.
Before joining Elmira, he played with the Philadelphia Rebels, Lone Star Brahmas, and Northeast Generals. His journey in junior hockey started during the 2022-2023 season where he made his first NAHL appearance with the Northeast Generals.
Head coach of the Aviators, Dom Manachio, shares his excitement for Otwell’s next step in his hockey playing career.
“We are very proud of Jett Otwell and excited to congratulate him on his commitment to Curry College. As an organization, we are thankful for the day-in and day-out dedication that Otwell brought to our team. Curry College is getting a determined young man who will be an absolute benefactor to their school on and off the ice. Good luck at the NCAA level, Jett!”
Otwell is one of eight members of the Elmira Aviators to make a college ice hockey commitment.
