Corpus Christi Forward Kempf makes NCAA DIII Commitment

The Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Cody Kempf has committed to play NCAA Division III for St. Olaf College in the MIAC.
The 5’10 righty from Middleton, Wisconsin is heading to Minnesota to play with the Oles in the fall. Kempf has played in the NAHL over four seasons. He has spent the past three seasons with Corpus Christi and recently hit 150 games with the IceRays. This season he has laced up in 59 contests and has served as one of the top goal scorers for the squad. Kempf has found the back of the net 17 times this season while producing 18 assists. Two of his goals were the decider for the IceRays, while three of them were scored on the man advantage. This season he was additionally named as a Top Prospect for the South Division squad at the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament at the USA Hockey Arena.
Last season, the ‘04 skater dished 10 goals and made six assists over 56 matchups. Two of his goals during the 2023-2024 season were the game-winning goals. In his first season with the IceRays, he hit the ice in 38 contests and Kempf produced two goals and assists for the South Division squad.
He made his NAHL debut with the Chippewa Steel in the 2021-2022 season when he was 18 years old. He laced up for five games and scored a goal in his third contest with the Steel. That next season he started with the Steel and played in 15 matchups for Chippewa. He found the back of the net three times, produced three assists, and sported a +2 rating. Following that stint, he was acquired by the IceRays. He hit the ice in 38 games and scored twice while making one assist.

Kempf is the tenth member of the Corpus Christi IceRays to make a college ice hockey commitment.
