Springfield Forward Sawicky makes NCAA DIII Commitment

The Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Luke Sawicky has committed to play NCAA Division III for Bethel University in the MIAC.
The 5’10 Minnesota native will be skating with the Royals in the fall. Sawicky is a first-year skater on the Jr. Blues. Last season he got the call for single-game call-ups for the Wisconsin Windigo and St. Cloud Norsemen. The ‘04 righty has laced up in 51 matchups for Springfield. He has found the back of the net six times while producing nine assists. Two of his six goals were the decider for the Jr. Blues. Prior to this season, he spent two seasons in the NA3HL with the Rochester Grizzlies. Last season featured him skating in 42 contests, scoring 24 goals, producing 20 assists, and notched a +31 rating.
Head coach of the Jr. Blues, Todd Pococke, shares his excitement for Sawicky’s commitment.
"We're very proud of Luke for his commitment to Bethel. He's worked extremely hard and this was well earned. He's the type of player who leads by example both on and off the ice and has represented the Jr. Blues organization in a great way! We wish the best of luck to him and look forward to watching him in the future."
Sawicky is one of five members of the Springfield Jr. Blues to make a college ice hockey commitment.
