Amarillo Captain Phillips makes NCAA DIII Commitment

The Amarillo Wranglers of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Morley Phillips has committed to play NCAA Division III for SUNY Cortland in the SUNYAC.
The North Carolina native will be skating as a Red Dragon in the fall with SUNY Cortland. Phillips is a second-year skater in the NAHL. He has spent his 2024-2025 campaign with the Wranglers. He leads his squad in goals (12), assists (18), and total points (30). His offensive dominance on the ice has been felt in his 49 games played. He features 0.61 points per game. The 6’4 skater was also a 2025 Top Prospect on the undefeated Selects Black squad. While at the USA Hockey Arena, he found the back of the net for his squad. Prior to joining the Wranglers, he skated with the Maryland Black Bears before he was traded to the Wranglers. For his 2023-2024 season he tallied five goals and made six assists in his 36 games played.
"I'm very honored and excited to be joining SUNY Cortland and the Red Dragons next year," said Phillips. "I would like to thank the whole Wranglers organization for everything. My family, teammates, coaches, and especially my billets, I couldn't do it without you guys.”
Phillips is one of three members of the Amarillo Wranglers to make a college ice hockey commitment.
