Elmira Forward Terry makes NCAA DIII Commitment

March 18, 2025

The Elmira Aviators of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) is proud to announce that forward Bryce Terry has committed to play NCAA Division III for Skidmore College in the SUNYAC.

The 6’2 righty from the Granite State heads West to play with the Thoroughbreds at Skidmore College in the fall. Terry is from North Conway, New Hampshire and has laced up with the Aviators in 51 matchups this season. He has dished eight goals while producing ten assists for his squad. This season marks Terry’s first season in the NAHL. Prior to skating in the League of Opportunities, he played in the NCDC with the Mercer Chiefs and Northern Cyclones. During his 2023-2024 campaign he tallied 10 goals and 13 assists in 33 games between the two squads.

While at Skidmore College he will not only just be hitting the ice, he will also take the field with the lacrosse team at the school. When Terry was at St. Paul’s School he was a three sport athlete taking part in hockey, lacrosse, and soccer.

Terry explains how his recruitment process started with Skidmore.

“I reached out to them, and a couple other colleges going into my age out year in the North American Hockey League. Skidmore and the coaching staff were the first school to email me back. They were the first school to hop on the phone with me, and talk about the process and about their program. They were also the first college to invite me out there for an official visit. And then they were the first college to put an official offer on the table for me.”

Head coach of the Aviators, Dom Manachio, shares his excitement for Terry and his future.

“We couldn’t be more proud of Bryce Terry for his commitment to continue his student-athlete career at Skidmore College. As a 2004 forward and assistant captain, Bryce has been a leader on and off the ice, playing a crucial role in our inaugural season. A fan favorite and a relentless competitor, he will certainly be missed, but his dedication, work ethic, and passion for the game have earned him this opportunity. We know he’ll continue to excel at the next level, and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes at Skidmore.”

Right now, the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds are in their last season with the NEHC and are moving to the SUNYAC next fall.

Terry is one of seven members of the Elmira Aviators to make a college ice hockey commitment.
