Sunday Wrap-Up: Wranglers Avoid Sweep With Overtime Win

Lone Star 1 @ Amarillo 2 (OT) - The Amarillo Wranglers snuck past the Lone Star Brahmas with a 2-1 overtime win on Sunday afternoon. The tightly contested affair was a defensive chess match after each team scored single goals in the first period. Sexton Tess notched his 17th marker of the year for Lone Star midway through the furst, but was quickly answered by Noah Wood three minutes later, Neither side refused to let up as the remainder of regulation remained scoreless, requiring extra time. Overtime did not take long to provide an answer, as Cole Saterdalen found the back of the net just a minute into the extra frame. Ryan Cameron backstopped 16 saves on 18 shots for Lone Star, but was one-upped by the premier play of Matt Schoephoerster, who made 30 saves on 31 shots for Amarillo to secure the win.
