Maryland Defenseman Osei makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Sam Osei has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Army West Point in the Atlantic.
The 19-year-old blueliner from the Empire State has committed to play with the Black Knights. This year marks his first season in the league. The 6’2 righty has hit the ice for 30 games with the Black Bears while featuring a plus-10 rating on the year. Prior to playing with Maryland, he played for the Shattuck St. Mary’s 18U squad. In 51 games he found the back of the net four times and produced 19 assists.
Osei reveals his excitement in furthering his education and hockey career with the Black Knights.
“I’m proud and excited to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey and further my education at Army West Point. I want to thank my family, coaches and teammates for helping me earn this incredible opportunity.”
Head coach of the Black Bears, Clint Mylymok, describes the dedication Osei has to his development.
“Sam has been a consummate teammate and competitor since day one. He comes to work every day and steadily improves every week. The sky's the limit for this kid. We are proud of Sam and extremely happy for him and his family. It means a lot to our program that he chose Maryland as the place to continue his development and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for him.
Osei is the twelfth member of the Maryland Black Bears to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
