Sunday Wrap-Up: Lone Star, Northeast Win on Sunday
Corpus Christi 1 @ Lone Star 4 - The Lone Star Brahmas earned a hard-fought win over the Corpus Christi IceRays on Sunday evening. The Brahmas kicked off the night’s scoring with back-to-back goals from Kristo Pitkanen and Saxton Tess midway through the first period. Pitkanen struck again early in the third, netting his second goal of the night, but Corpus Christi’s Will Reardon answered shortly after, putting the IceRays on the board. However, Cooper Faughnan found the back of the net later in the period, sealing the Brahmas' 4-1 win.
Danbury 4 @ Northeast 5 (OT) - The Northeast Generals claimed a thrilling overtime victory against the Danbury Hat Tricks. Danbury opened the scoring with goals from Spencer Hurst and Benjamin Campeau. The Generals responded back with David Utkin and Niko Tournas both netting goals to even the score at the end of the first period. In the second period, Tournas struck again to give the Generals their first lead, but Danbury's Jaden Sikura capitalized on a power play to tie it up. In the third, Campeau netted his second goal of the night, briefly giving the Hat Tricks the lead before Alexis Billequey found the back of the net for Northeast forcing the game into overtime. William-Francisco Parent sealed the win for the Generals in overtime, netting the game-winning goal.
