Maine Defenseman Fancy makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) is proud to announce that defenseman Ocean Fancy has committed to play NCAA Division I for Tennessee State University.
First-year skater for the Nordiques, Fancy is joining the new program on the block, the Tennessee State Tigers. The 6’0 blueliner has tallied three goals and made 13 assists this season with the Nordiques. He ranks third overall on his squad for his +14 rating while is first in assists (13) and total points (16) among Maine defensemen. Last season, he played for the Merritt Centennials in the BCHL.
Fancy shares his thoughts on heading to play at Tennessee State University.
“I’m extremely proud to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey at Tennessee State University. Thank you to family, friends, and coaches who have helped along the way.”
Head coach of the Nordiques, Nick Skerlick, shares his excitement for Fancy.
"We are very happy to send a second Nordique to TSU this season. Ocean has been a staple for us through the good and challenging times. We cannot think of a more deserving individual to earn a scholarship to play Division I hockey and for a coach (Duante Abercrombie) who has been so successful in developing players. We are excited to watch Ocean in his final games and conclude what will be a magical finish to our season. Congrats Ocean, and the Fancy Family."
Fancy is the eighth member of the Maine Nordiques to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
