The Colorado Grit of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) is proud to announce that defenseman Carson Pavlowich has committed to play NCAA Division I for the Air Force Academy in the Atlantic.

The 6’3 blueliner from Minnesota is in his rookie season with the Colorado Grit. Pavlowich has scored one goal, made six assists, and has a +1 rating on the season. Last year, he was a member of the New Mexico Ice Wolves NA3HL team before and after his hometown high school squad’s season. On the Proctor High School team, he scored five goals and made 30 assists over 27 games. While on the Ice Wolves, he posted three goals, six assists, and a +4 rating. Thanks to his ability on the ice last year he earned a tender with the Colorado Grit.

Pavlowich shares his excitement for his commitment and his gratitude to the Colorado Grit organization.

“I am very excited and honored to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey and continue my education at the United States Air Force Academy. I would like to thank all of my coaches, teammates, family, and friends who have helped me along the way. I would also like to thank everyone in the Grit organization who has helped me get here. None of this would be possible without the help of my coaches and everyone else who believed in me and gave me the chance at this level. My time with the Grit has been amazing and I am looking forward to staying in Colorado for the future.”

Colorado Grit head coach, Kevin Holmstrom, explains how Erickson is a valuable squad member.

“We are extremely excited for Carson and the great future he has in front of him,” stated Colorado’s head coach, Kevin Holmstrom. “He has taken such great steps this season, been patient with his development, respectful, and competes every day. Pavs possesses so many good hockey habits, but more importantly, character traits that are very fitting for the Air Force Academy, the staff, and its hockey program. We look forward to his continued success in the last part of our season and everything he brings to the Grit!”

Pavlowich is the second member of the Colorado Grit to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
