Five Players with NAHL Ties on the NHL Central Scouting Midterm Rankings

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) is proud to announce that five players with connections to the NAHL have been acknowledged in the NHL Central Scouting Midterm Rankings for the 2025 NHL Draft. Three active players in the league have been recognized as candidates, along with two former players. The list features draft-eligible prospects from junior development leagues across North America and Europe. It will be regularly updated throughout the season as scouts assess players.

The NHL Central Scouting Midterm Rankings features the top players eligible for the 2025 NHL Draft on both North American and International Soil. The list is compiled of over 300 eligible skaters and goaltenders.

Current NAHL Skater

#155: Frantisek Netusil, F, Minnesota Wilderness - A 17-year-old skater from Czechia, Netusil is in his first season of playing junior league hockey. The 5’10 righty leads his squad with 19 goals and 30 total points. The Western Michigan commit scored 10 of his goals on the man advantage. 

Current NAHL Goaltenders

#13: Carl Axelsson, G, Austin Bruins - Someone to ‘bear witness’ to is this 6’4 18-year-old from Sweden. In his four games played with the Bruins, He has produced three wins, sported a 1.976 goals against average and a .924 save percentage.

#21: Ryan Cameron, G, Lone Star Brahmas - There is no lying with Ryan’s stats this season. The 6’1 17-year-old has been electric between the pipes. He leads the league with his 0.831 goals against average and .966 save percentage, while producing five shutouts in his 13 games played.

Former NAHL Players

#24: Kyle Jones, G, Oklahoma Warriors - Fighting like a warrior in the net, Jones served as a keystone piece for the Oklahoma squad. Jones made 21 appearances in the NAHL before joining the Tri-City Storm of the USHL in early January.

#115 Ritter Coombs, F, El Paso Rhinos - Currently playing on the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the USHL.

 

This season marks the 50th year of the NHL Central Scouting. The organization provides evaluations and scouting of draft-eligible players to the NHL member clubs. The 63rd NHL Draft is set to take place this summer at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.

The next big event will be the 2025 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament. It will take place on February 17-18, 2025, at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. Similar to events in the past, NHL Central Scouting and the NAHL League Office work side by side to put a roster together of NHL Draft-eligible prospects, which may include the guys recognized in this midterm rankings.
