El Paso Goaltender LoVullo makes NCAA DI Commitment
The El Paso Rhinos of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that goaltender Joey LoVullo has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey next semester for American International College.
The 6’0 netminder got the call and is heading to AIC next semester to play with the Yellow Jackets. LoVullo was in his third season in the NAHL. For the past two seasons he has spent his time with the Rhinos, while in his first season he played one game for the Northeast Generals. This season the New York native has put together a 2.570 goals against average and a .912 save percentage between the pipes.
Assistant coach of the El Paso Rhinos, Alec Sherman, shared his thoughts on LoVullo’s commitment.
“We wish Joey the best with his jump to AIC. He is a goalie who can hop right in and play at that next level. He has been strong for us for the last year and a half and will continue that with AIC.”
Sherman also explained LoVullo’s personality on and off the ice.
“Joey is a great kid with a calm and collected personality. However, when it is time to go, he is dialed in and ready. AIC is lucky to have a player like that. We will miss him but know he will rise to the occasion.”
