2025 NAHL Officiating Exposure Camp Registration Opens Today

The NAHL Officitiating Exposure Camps are now open for 2025. These Exposure Camps are designed to provide participants with the opportunity to develop as officials. The camps will feature classroom sessions, off-ice testing, on-ice testing, and the opportunity to gain experience working with both the Three-Official and Four-Official systems. 

The Officiating Exposure Camps are designed to provide education, exposure, and experience for the future officials of the NAHL and beyond. The Director of Officiating, Keith Kaval shared that “many of our on-ice officials have used this opportunity to excel within our family of leagues.”

The Exposure Camps will be held in conjunction with some of the NAHL Combines. At these combines officials will have the opportunity to work face-paced, skilled, and competitive games. During the camps, officials will also receive feedback from experienced officiating coaches and learn the Three-Official and Four-Official Systems.

Kaval continued and explained more about the impact that these camps can have on future officials. 

“These camps are an opportunity for young officials to get feedback. No different than the players, the officials who come to camp are looking for education, exposure, and experience. We look forward to welcoming the next generation of officials to our organization.”

With four camps happening across the country on different dates, every aspiring official has the opportunity to find the best camp for them. Space is limited and applicants will be notified of their application results on or before February 15, 2025. To be eligible for the Exposure Camp, applicants must be a USA Hockey certified official who are 18 years of age or older and have at least one year of experience.*

Dan Ellison serves as the USA Hockey Pacific District Referee-in-Chief and he shared his experience within his district.

“It is a great thing to have a district that spreads from Alaska to Hawaii. There are a lot of young promising officials and it is a great opportunity for us to train them in a competitive environment of higher level hockey.”

Columbus, Ohio – April 10-13, 2025 || OhioHealth Chiller North 

• Partnered with USA Hockey Mid-Am District (MID-AM)

Hooksett, New Hampshire – April 24-27, 2025 || Tri-Town Ice Arena

• Partnered with USA Hockey New England District (NED)

Irvine, California – May 1-4, 2025 || Great Park Ice & FivePoint Arena

• Partnered with USA Hockey Pacific District (PD)

 

*Applications who are 18 years of age or older who have less than one year of experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. While applicants who are under 18 years of age will also be considered on a case-by-case basis if they reside locally to the Exposure Camp location.
