Maryland Forward Hinton makes NCAA DI Commitment
The Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Trey Hinton has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the Air Force Academy in the Atlantic.
The 5’10 lefty from Castle Rock, Colorado has tallied three goals and nine assists so far this season. Hinton is in his first season with the Maryland Black Bears and the NAHL, however, has played alongside fellow teammate, Harrison Smith, on the Team Maryland 18U AAA squad last year.
“I would like to thank everyone at the MBB family for their support to start the year,” said Hinton. “I’m truly grateful for the opportunity and I’m excited to keep pushing for a championship in Maryland. Go Black Bears!”
“Trey has an extremely high hockey IQ, and has quickly developed into a complete player at the Junior level. He competes every time he steps onto the ice, and has a very high ceiling,” said Maryland’s head coach, Clint Mylmok. “Congratulations to Trey and his family. He is going to a great program, with great coaches, and gets to play close to home. It is a great fit.”
Hinton is one of eight players to commit to play Division I college hockey on the Maryland Black Bears.
