Saturday Scores: Bruins Push Point Streak to 11

Seth Murch scored the game winning goal in overtime for Shreveport

Maryland 4 @ Danbury 1 - Maryland would look to sweep the weekend versus Danbury, after a 4-1 victory on Friday. Luke Janus would continue his dominance over this weekend as he would pot a goal on the powerplay and would follow it up with another just minutes later. Thomas Holtby would add another seconds later and would send the Black Bears into intermission with a three goal lead. Holtby would add another moments into the second period, to which Niko Tournas would respond later on in the second. The third period would remain scoreless and Benji Motew would pick up the victory, making 27 saves in the process.

Philadelphia 3 @ New Hampshire 4 - The first period would have no goals, but the second period would be filled with a plethora of goals. Kalib Capecci and Joe Stauber would lead the way for the Rebels, scoring to put their team up 2-0. However goals from Rogiero Cacciarelli and Oli Genest would even this game at two. Caesar Bjork and the Rebels would take the lead early into the third before Jaden Johnson would have other plans. Johnson would score a shorthanded goal to once again tie, but a goal in the waning seconds would help the Mountain Kings prevail over the Rebels.

Lone Star 4 @ Colorado 0 - The Brahmas would continue their excellent start to the season in a Saturday matchup versus the Grit. Camden Prier would get the party started in the first period and Elias Kumlin would add more to the lead in the second. Kyle Isenberg would add a power play marker in the second and Kumlin would put this game on ice with his second of the game late in the third. Ryan Cameron would stay perfect, grabbing the shutout and making 24 saves on the night.

Maine 3 @ New Jersey 4 (OT) - New Jersey looked for redemption after a blowout loss on Friday. It would take almost the whole period before Blake Jones would give the Titans the first goal of the game. In the second, the Nordiques would take the lead as goals from Laurent Trepanier, Arhip Sidarovich, and Shane Kozlina, would completely flip this game upside down. Logan Renkowsk would cut the lead to one in the third, before Ryan Novo would tie this game in the dying seconds. Renkowski would get his second goal of the game in overtime to grab the victory, with his goaltender, Charlie Mistretta, making 37 saves.

Northeast 2 @ Rochester 5 - Rochester would pick up where they left off on Friday, as Jaden Dyke and Wyatt Stefan would lead the way in the first period. Gabriel Cull would add another goal in the second period to put the Jr. Americans up by three. That would hold until two goals late in the second from Emerson Miller and Masen Culley would cut the lead to one going into the second intermission. Dyke would add another insurance goal and Gabe Randel would put this game out of reach with his empty net goal. Aiden McKenna would make 36 saves in defeat and Danick Leroux would get the win with 27. 

Johnstown 3 @ Elmira 2 (OT) - Adam Ondris would get the Tomahawks up early in this one, before Clarence Beltz would level this game at one a few minutes later. After an interference call, Cullen Emery would strike on the powerplay to give Johnstown the lead. Once again Elmira would respond, with Matthew Maglio lighting the lamp. The third period would go scoreless, which would force this game to go to an extra period. In the overtime, Emery would score his second of the night to clinch the victory. Zack Ferris would get the victory, making 24 saves in the process.

Bismarck 5 @ North Iowa 1 - Jakub Kopecky would score early in this matchup, as the Bobcats looked to cruise to their 18th win in 20 games. The Bobcats would once again strike, this time in the second period as Matthew Rafalski would find the twine. Charlie Sandven and Kyle Doll would add more to the lead in the second period. Nate Bannister would score to put the Bobcats up by five and Michael Malatino would score in the final seconds to break the shutout.

Aberdeen 5 @ St. Cloud 3 - Mason Lebel would lead the way for the Norsemen, scoring to put St. Cloud up late in the first. In the second, Carter Lundie would double the lead, before Elvis Laškovs and Owen Pitters would even this game at two a side. Alex Sandhu would send St. Cloud to the locker room with the lead as he would strike late in the second. Goals from Jibber Kuhl and Gustas Zemaitis would put the Wings up in the third and they would take the victory.

Minot 6 @ Minnesota M 1 - Two goals from Ian Spencer powered the Minot Minotauros to a weekend sweep of the Minnesota Mallards, defeating the Mallards by a final score of 6-1 on Saturday night. The lone goal of the first belonged to Minot, and it came off the stick of Leo Cabulis after he converted a nice feed from Brandon Funk. The second would be all Minot, as Jesse Juhola would bury one on the man advantage to double the Minotauro lead, and with just under three minutes left in the period, two goals in 18 seconds from Spencer flipped the game on its head, and John Small would join the goal scoring frenzy with just 13 seconds left in the period, and the deficit heading into the final frame was five. Dakotah Bailey would get one back for the Mallards, but just under three minutes later, Murray Marvin-Cordes would bury a feed from Billy Batten to seal the game for Minot.

Watertown 2 @ Austin 5 - The Austin Bruins power play was clicking on all cylinders on Saturday night, as four power play goals in the third period powered the Bruins to a weekend sweep of the Watertown Shamrocks by a final of 5-2. The lone goal of the first came just before the midway point of the period off the stick of Dmitrijs Dilevka for Watertown. In the second, Zander Lipsett buried a feed from Nathan Williams to tie the game, but with just over three minutes to go, Cam Markham would restore the Watertown lead on the man advantage to give them a 2-1 lead after two periods. Early in the third, Alex Laurenza would convert on the man advantage to bring the game level, and then two goals in 90 seconds from Luc Malkhassian and EJ Paddington flipped the game on its head. Watertown fought desperately for an equalizer, but Paddington sealed the game with an empty net power play goal.

Springfield 3 @ Janesville 0 - Two third period goals from Jagur McClelland was enough for the Springfield Jr. Blues to earn a weekend split with the Janesville Jets, defeating Janesville by a final score of 3-0 on Saturday night. The first two periods were a back and forth battle, but 28 saves from Springfield goalie Frank Murphy and 12 saves from Matthew Alberti kept the game scoreless after two periods. Early in the third, the tides changed, as McClelland buried his first of the night to give the Jr.Blues the lead, and they never looked back, as two goals in three minutes from McClelland and Logan Ganz sealed the game for Springfield.

Corpus Christi 1 @ Shreveport 2 (OT) - Seth Murch would be the overtime hero, and the Shreveport Mudbugs would earn a weekend split with the Corpus Christi IceRays, winning by a final score of 2-1 on Saturday night. The first frame brought plenty of opportunities, but 11 saves from Vlad Bryzgalov and eight from Nikola Goich kept the game scoreless. The lone goal of the second belonged to the IceRays, and it came off the stick of Pierson Sobush, and his third of the series gave Corpus Christi the lead after 40 minutes. Late in the third, Liam Doyle would convert a pass from Gleb Akimov, and the game would head to overtime, where Murch would be the hero for Shreveport

El Paso 2 @ Amarillo 3 - The Amarillo Wranglers earned a weekend split with the El Paso Rhinos, winning by a final score of 3-2 on Saturday night. The lone goal of the first belonged to Amarillo, coming off the stick of Trace Day. The second would be all Corpus Christi, as an early goal from Corson Maguire and a late goal from Jacob Miller would give the IceRays a three goal lead after 40 minutes. The man advantage would cut the lead back to two for El Paso, and four minutes later, Duke Gentzler would cut the lead in half. El Paso would desperately search for an equalizer, but it would be too little too late, and Amarillo would get the split.

Wisconsin 7 @ Minnesota W 3 - Special teams would be huge for the Wisconsin Windigo, as two shorthanded goals and two on the man advantage would prove to be more than enough to earn the weekend sweep, defeating the Wilderness by a final of 7-1. The lone goal of the first period belonged to the Windigo, and it came off the stick of Jace Fitzgerald. In the second, Declan Burns would score shorthanded, but a minute later, Nate Murray would chop the lead in half, and with just over 90 seconds to go before the intermission, Ben Roulette would equalize. Just before the midway point, Jordan Brothers would net his first of the night shorthanded, but a minute later, Noah Dziver would equalize once again, this one on the man advantage. Brothers would bury his second of the period two and a half minutes later to give the Windigo the lead, and then three goals in two minutes from Zachary Cline, Ronnie Hill, and Harper Frey would break the game open and seal the 7-3 win for the Windigo.

Oklahoma 0 @ New Mexico 2 - Two goals from Ben Polomsky would be enough for the New Mexico Ice Wolves to earn the weekend sweep of the Oklahoma Warriors on Saturday night. With 38 seconds left in the first, Polomsky would bury his first of the evening and fifth of the season. The rest of the night belonged to Jackson Fuller who stopped all 23 shots fired in his direction to earn his first shutout of the season. Polomsky would add the dagger in the closing seconds with an empty net tally. Billy Stuski suffered the loss despite just allowing one goal on 38 shots.

Anchorage 1 @ Fairbanks 4 - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs finished off a sweep of the Anchorage Wolverines with a 4-1 victory on Saturday night. Nick Madsen got the scoring started with his first goal of the season. Jakub Bednarik evened the game for Anchorage with his seventh of the year. In the middle frame, Justin Collins gave Fairbanks the lead again with his third tally of the season. Aidan Bergneer and Kyle Rohrer added to the Ice Dogs lead in the third period to help seal the win for Fairbanks. Charlie Menard needed just 12 saves to grab the win in between the pipes. William Lubimov was much busier, finishing the night with 36 saves.
