Danbury Steals Win Wednesday

Maine 2 @ Danbury 3 (SO) - Ryan Lukko netted the game deciding goal in the third round of the shootout as the Danbury Hat Tricks topped the Maine Nordiques 3-2. Lukko netted the first goal of the game just seven minutes into the action as Danbury jumped out to a 1-0 lead. After a scoreless second period, the Nordiques came out flying in the third as Usko Laaksonen tied the game at one with his fourth goal of the season. Later in the frame, Michael Stenberg netted his fifth of the year to put the Nordiques ahead for the first time. In the final minute and with the net empty, Pierre Larocque scored for Danbury to force overtime. After the scoreless five minute period, we went to the shootout where both teams scored in the opening round. After three consecutive stops, the game was on the stick of Lukko who deposited the game winner. Jack Fialkoff was the winner in goal as he made 36 saves for Danbury. Matthew DellaRusso was given the loss as he finished the night with 21 saves.
