Sunday Wrap Up: Wolverines Grab Win Over Wilderness
by Sam Krollman
Minnesota W 4 @ Anchorage 5 (OT) - 60 minutes would not be enough, but goals from five separate goal scorers would be good enough to give the Anchorage Wolverines a back and forth 5-4 overtime win over the Minnesota Wilderness on Sunday afternoon. The opening minute of the first would be very eventful, as 38 seconds would be all the time it took to break the ice, as Nate Murray opened the scoring for the visitors, but just over 20 seconds later, Patrick Tolan would equalize. Just past the midway point of the period, Ben Roulette would give the Wilderness the lead, but just a couple of minutes later, Anchorage native Jason Bourdukofsky would equalize for the Wolverines, and the game would skid to the first intermission deadlocked at two goals. The second would start with a bang, as just over a minute in, Daniel Bagnole would give the Wolverines the lead, but just before the midway point, Jakeb Lynch would once again equalize. His glory would be shortlived, as just under three minutes after that, Jakub Bednarik would score on the man advantage, and the Wolverines would head to the locker room up a goal. The lone goal of the third came just 90 seconds in on the man advantage for the Wilderness, as Frantisek Netusil buried a feed from Luke Margenau, and the game would head to overtime, where Samuel Evert buried his third of the season to give the Wolverines the extra point.
