Johnstown forward Potter makes NCAA DI Commitment
The Johnstown Tomahawks of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward, Dallas Potter, has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Sacred Heart University in the Atlantic Hockey America conference.
“I am honored to announce my commitment to play Division I college hockey at Sacred Heart University,” said Potter. “Thank you to everyone that has helped me along the way.”
Potter, a 17-year-old from Connecticut, was playing his first season of junior hockey with the Tomahawks. Following his commitment, Potter was called up to play for the Sioux City Musketeers in the USHL. The 5’9 righty played 13 games with Johnstown where he had two assists on the squad.
"I couldn’t be happier or more excited for Dallas for his commitment to play at Sacred Heart. This is a great day for him and his family. There are few players more deserving than he is,” stated Johnstown head coach, Jared Kersner. “Dallas is a tireless worker, fully committed to mastering his craft. He’s a very talented player, but what sets him apart is his exceptional hockey IQ. He sees the game unfold and is always a step ahead of his opponents. His great stick skills give him the ability to play with deception and make plays all over the rink."
This season, Potter is the eighth player to commit to play Division I hockey on the Tomahawks.
