Brown Bears forward Rampton makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Greye Rampton has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Tennessee State University.

Rampton, 20, is playing his first season in the North American Hockey League with Kenai River, an immediate impact player for the organization. With 9 points (4 goals, 5 assists) in 10 games, the Chilliwack, BC native is the current leading scorer for his squad. Scoring two game winning goals, in addition to a shootout goal, Rampton has been a huge contributor as the Brown Bears currently sit in first place in the Midwest Division with an overall record of 7-2-1-0. When taking a look at the season thus far, the ‘04 forward had his best game to date during opening weekend where he was able to score two goals and notch one assist against the Janesville Jets.

Greye has been a great addition to our group this year as he has bought into what it means to be a Brown Bear,” stated Kenai Head Coach Taylor Shaw. “He plays a hard, 200ft game and can play in all situations due to his honest game. We can’t thank Greye enough for all he has done so far for this organization on and off the ice and we are looking forward to continuing to work with as he prepares to head off to Tennessee State University next fall.”

Rampton is the 1st player to commit for the Brown Bears this season.
