Brahmas defenseman Classon makes NCAA DI Commitment
The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman August Classon has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Massachusetts Lowell in the Hockey East.
Classon, 20, is a first-year NAHL player, moving over to the States to pursue his junior career as a Swedish native. Through five games so far this season with Lone Star, Classon had a solid performance on the blueline at the NAHL Showcase, impressing the NCAA scouts in attendance. During the showcase game against the New Jersey Titans, the 6’0” defender dished out the primary assist on the game winning goal for the Brahmas.
“We are very proud of Classon as he took a chance to come over to the US to play in the North American League,” stated Brahmas Head Coach Dan Wildfong. “We talked to him about the opportunities he would have playing in this league and we couldn’t be more proud that he exited the showcase with multiple offers, ultimately choosing UMASS Lowell for his collegiate career. Knowing what is ahead, we are excited to see what the future holds for him.”
Classon is the 1st player to commit for the Brahmas this season.
