Janesville forward Fechko makes NCAA DI Commitment

August 5, 2024

The Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Trey Fechko has announced his commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey for Tennessee State University in the 2025-2026 season.

“I’m proud to announce my commitment to play D1 hockey for the 2025-26 season at Tennessee State University!” said Trey. “I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates.”

Fechko, 20, just completed his rookie season in the NAHL and second season of junior hockey overall. The Raritan, New Jersey native joined the Jets mid-season after being acquired from the Spruce Grove Saints of the AJHL. His NAHL debut came on the 11th of November and his first points would come two games later against the Springfield Jr. Blues, scoring a pair of goals in a 5-2 victory on the road.

The 6’1 192 lbs. forward played 34 regular season games for Janesville, amassing 33 points (13 goals, 20 assists). His strong play throughout the season earned him a selection to the 2024 Top Prospects Tournament in Pennsylvania. There he represented the Jets on Team Midwest and tallied a pair of points in his two appearances.

Fechko becomes the first NAHL player to make an NCAA Division I commitment to the incoming Tennessee State University program. He is the 14th active Jet to make an NCAA Division I commitment.
