Brahmas forward Hamstad makes NCAA DIII Commitment

July 29, 2024

The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Max Hamstad has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Bethel University in the MIAC.

Hamstad, 21, is a three-year NAHL player, suiting up for the Philadelphia Rebels and most recently, the Lone Star Brahmas. Over the course of 189 games, the White Bear Lake, MN native recorded 102 points (35 goals, 67 assists). Of his 35 goals, eight were gamewinners while three came on the powerplay and two were shorthanded. Hamstad’s best game of his career came on April 15, 2023 as he scored two goals and tallied two assists.

Before beginning the 2023-24 postseason, he was selected to represent the South Division at the Top Prospects Tournament in Pittsburgh, PA.

The 6’2” forward ended his junior career on a high note, earning a trip back home to Minnesota to battle it out during the Robertson Cup Finals. After sweeping their series with the Anchorage Wolverines, Hampstad and the Brahmas would advance to the Championship game, taking home the Robertson Cup after a thrilling 4-2 win against the Maryland Black Bears.

Hamstad is the 13th player to commit for the Brahmas this season.
