July 19, 2024

The Rochester Jr. Americans of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Liam Varmecky has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Hamilton College in the NESCAC.

Varmecky, 21, is a three-year NAHL player, primarily suiting up for the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks and Rochester Jr. Americans. With 130 NAHL games under his belt, the Gibsonia, PA native recorded 43 points (9 goals, 34 assists), including a three-game point streak this season coming in mid-February.

Prior to beginning his junior career, Varmecky has been a member of the NAHL family dating back to the 2018-19 season as a member of the Esmark Stars in the NAPHL. Playing at the 15U, 16U and 18U levels, the 6’3” blueliner appeared in 85 games.

Varmecky is the 14th player to commit for the Jr. Americans this season.
