Jackalopes defenseman Mitchell makes NCAA DI Commitment

July 11, 2024

The Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Trevor Mitchell has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Northern Michigan University in the CCHA.

Mitchell, 21, is a NAHL veteran, his first season in the league being the 2021-22 season with the Minnesota Wilderness and Bismarck Bobcats. After making the switch to Odessa during the 2022-23 season, Mitchell appeared in a total of 159 NAHL games, tallying 37 points (8 goals, 29 assists).

Throughout the 2023-24 season, the 6’3” blueliner had two multi-point weekends, coming in late January and mid March, each weekend recording 3 assists.

“We are so excited for Trevor and his family. Trevor had a fantastic season and will be able to contribute right away at Northern Michigan,” stated Jackalopes Head Coach Scott Deur. “They are getting a skilled and smart player that has the ability to make those around him better. Off the ice Trevor has a personality that people want to follow. We look forward to seeing what Trevor is going to do at the next level.”

Mitchell is the 5th player to commit for the Jackalopes this season.
