Mudbugs forward Cook makes NCAA DIII Commitment

The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Brayden Cook has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of New England in the CCC.
Cook, 21, is a NAHL veteran as he began his junior career during the 2021-22 season with the Springfield Jr. Blues, the same organization that he would spend the 2022-23 season with as well. This season, the Shreveport, LA native would return to his hometown to suit up for the Mudbugs for his final year of junior eligibility.
Throughout his 146 games in the NAHL, Cook tallied 69 points (21 goals, 48 assists), his best season to date coming with the Mudbugs where he recorded a season high of 46 points. Of his 17 goals this season, Cook scored four game winning goals, four powerplay goals, four shootout goals and one shorthanded goal. The Mudbugs forward recorded back to back four point games in mid february as he scored a hattrick and notched one assist, followed up by scoring a pair of goals and assists against the Corpus Christi IceRays.
Given his success, Cook was selected to represent the South division at the 2024 Top Prospects Tournament.
Cook is the 8th player to commit for the Mudbugs this season.
