Mountain Kings goaltender Carney makes NCAA DIII Commitment
The New Hampshire Mountain Kings of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that goaltender Stefan Carney has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of New England in the CCC.
Carney, 20, wrapped up his third and final season of junior hockey in the NAHL. The Illinois native appeared in 53 games throughout the league, suiting up for the Corpus Christi IceRays, North Iowa Bulls and New Hampshire Mountain Kings. Over the course of three seasons, the 6’0” netminder averaged a 3.86 goals against average and .897 save percentage, while posting a 14-28-3 record.
During the 2020-2021 season, Carney was a member of the Des Moine Buccaneers 18U team in the NAPHL, posting a 10-0-2 record while recording a 2.51 goals against average and a save percentage of .963.
Carney is the 16th player to commit for the Mountain Kings this season.
