Black Bears forward Urgo makes NCAA DIII Commitment
The Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Michael Urgo has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for SUNY Oswego in the SUNYAC.
Urgo, 21, suited up for his final season of junior hockey with the Maryland Black Bears, appearing in 51 regular season games, recording 16 points (3 goals, 13 assists), 11 of his 16 points coming in the month of March, including a 3 game point streak.
As the East Division Champions, Urgo and the Black Bears advanced to the Robertson Cup Finals where they ultimately swept their series with the Minot Minotauros to advance to the Championship game. During postseason play, Urgo tallied an additional 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists), including the game winning goal in Game 1 of the East Division Semifinals against the New Jersey Titans on April 19th.
Urgo is the 11th player to commit for the Black Bears this season.
