Rhinos forward Lund makes NCAA DI Commitment

June 17, 2024

The El Paso Rhinos of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Tory Lund has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Bemidji State University in the CCHA.

Lund, 19, is a two-year NAHL player, suiting up for both the Minot Minotauros and the El Paso Rhinos. Throughout his time in the league, the Sartell, MN native appeared in 125 games, 8 of which were Robertson Cup Playoff games, where in total he recorded 72 points (25 goals, 47 assists).

As the leading scorer for the Rhinos this season, Lund was able to net 4 game winning goals, 4 powerplay goals and 2 shorthanded goals and recorded two three-point games against the Corpus Christi IceRays and New Mexico Ice Wolves.

“Tory has been exceptional for us everyday since we acquired him 18 months ago. He was a major factor in getting things headed in the right direction and we could not be more proud of him. This is well deserved and his consistency as a person and player will be missed,” stated Rhinos Head Coach Joe Coombs.

Prior to his time in the NAHL, Lund skated in 10 NA3HL games for the Granite City Lumberjacks where he tallied 4 goals and 4 assists.

Lund is the 4th player to commit for the Rhinos this season.
