Austin forward Wallace makes NCAA DI Commitment

May 28, 2024

The Austin Bruins, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to share that forward Ocean Wallace has announced his commitment to continue his education and play NCAA Division I hockey at St. Cloud State University in the NCHC.

“I am very proud to announce my commitment to play Division 1 college hockey and further my academics at St. Cloud State University,” said Wallace. “Huge thanks to my teammates, coaches, friends and most of all my family for the continued support up to this point in my career.”

Wallace, 20, is an Austin veteran, joining the Bruins early in the 2021-22 campaign. In 43 games as an 18-year-old rookie, the Boulder, Colorado native put up 8 goals and 20 points in 43 regular season games. This season Wallace has brought his offensive production to another level; in 59 regular season games, Ocean tallied 21 goals (2nd on Austin roster) and 44 points (3rd on Austin roster).

In February, Wallace was selected to participate in the 2024 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament; there, he represented Team Central and tallied a pair of points in two games.

Wallace is the 2nd player in the NAHL to commit to St. Cloud State University this season. He becomes the 10th Bruin to commit to playing NCAA Division I hockey in the future.
