Kareem El Bashir then found the back of the net for his first of the postseason to give the Black Bears the lead after 40 minutes. In the final period, Maryland came out flying as they scored three times in the opening four minutes. First Jérémi Tremblay found the back of the net and then 23 seconds later it was El Bashir potting his second of the night. Then the run was capped off by Trayce Johnson as he got in on the action just two minutes later. Owen Lepak got the win in goal for the Black Bears while Carter Richardson was saddled with the loss for the Nordiques.
