Maine forward Lewis makes NCAA DIII Commitment

The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Matt Lewis has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Connecticut College in the NESCAC.
Lewis, 20, is playing his 2nd season of junior hockey in the NAHL. The Massachusetts native began his NAHL career during the 2022-2023 season for the Philadelphia Rebels. During his 44 games with the Rebels, Lewis tallied a total of 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 total points.
Before transitioning over to the Nordiques for the 2023-2024 campaign, Lewis had a short stint with the Springfield Blues. Since arriving in Maine, the right winger has tallied 12 points in 37 games. This includes 2 game winning goals in addition to a short handed goal as well.
Head Coach, Nick Skerlick stated, “Matt is an intense competitor and an extremely lovable teammate. One of the funnier kids we have come across, he is always looking to be in the big moments. He adds a ton of depth, speed, and physicality to our line up. We are sad to see him go before aging out but it’s another Nordique player in a college setting that they chose. Congrats to Matthew and his parents who are great people as well.”
Lewis is the 14th player to commit for the Nordiques this season.
