Sunday Wrap-Up: Puikkonen's Game Winner Lifts Amarillo Past Colorado

Maine 1 @ Philadelphia 3: The Philadelphia Rebels closed out their 2023-24 season with a victory over the Maine Noridques 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. Thomas Neu lit the lamp twice for the Rebels while Klaus Jogi netted a goal as well. Cole Estey netted the only tally for the Nordiques in the loss. Jakub Krbecek secured the win in goal as he made 31 saves. Thomas Heaney took the loss in net for Maine as he finished the afternoon with 28 saves.
Colorado 2 @ Amarillo 3 (OT): Topi Puikkonen scored the game winning goal in overtime as the Amarillo Wranglers secured a 3-2 decision over the Colorado Grit. Brayden Fryfogle and Bowen Burke scored for the Grit in the opening period but goals from Nick Troutwine and Jack Ivey tied the game for the Wranglers. That set the stage for Puikkonen’s goal to seal the regular season finale for Amarillo. Andrew Peterson got the win between the pipes as he finished with 27 saves. Jack Erickson was saddled with the loss for the Grit, he made 42 stops.
