NAHL Announces Bauer Stars of the Week

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending March 17, 2024. The Divisional Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2023-24 season that honors the top performing players in each of the four NAHL divisions. Only players that are nominated by their respective teams are considered for the Divisional Players of the Week award.
Central Division Star of the Week: Patrick Johnson, Forward, Bismarck Bobcats
Patrick Johnson was outstanding in a one game showing for the Bobcats in a 6-4 victory over the St. Cloud Norsemen. The Chesterfield, MO native posted three points that included two goals and an assist. The Robert Morris University commit has played in 52 games this season, where he has combined for 36 points with 17 goals and 19 assists. "Patrick always shows up when games are tough or when we have big games and that is what he did this weekend against St. Cloud," Head Coach Layne Sedevie said.

East Division Star of the Week: Dominick Rivelli, Forward, New Jersey Titans
Titans forward Dominick Rivelli was a major factor in New Jersey taking back-to-back wins against Northeast over the weekend. Rivelli, a Highland Park, IL native, scored a hat-trick in the weekend opener, where New Jersey won 5-2. In the following contest, Rivelli picked right back up where he left off, adding two more goals on to his resume to end the weekend with a Titans 6-3 win on Saturday. The UMass Lowell commit has played in 48 games this season and has totalled 43 points. “It was another impressive offensive weekend for Dom,” Head Coach Craig Doremus said. “He has continued his strong play throughout the season and it has been a huge part of our offensive attack. Dom’s leadership off the ice and production on the ice have been a huge part of our recent string of strong play. Dom is a pleasure to work with each day and he is going to be a huge part of the UMass Lowell culture next year. We are proud of him and look forward to him continuing to lead our team off the ice.”

Midwest Division Star of the Week: Beau Janzig, Defenseman, Minnesota Wilderness
Minnesota defenseman Beau Janzig helped in the Wilderness weekend split on the road in Anchorage, where the team picked up two points. The Hermantown, MN native started the weekend off strong by adding a goal and two assists. In the following contest, Janzig added an assist in the Wilderness shootout victory. The Air Force Academy commit has played in 46 games where he has combined for 26 points. “Beau is obviously a huge part of our team as a leader and as a player,” Head Coach Colten St. Clair said. “He earned the star of the week because of his game management and making the plays that are available. He is playing big minutes against the other team's best players and has done a great job with that.”

South Division Star of the Week: Jack Ivey, Forward, Amarillo Wranglers
Wranglers forward Jack Ivey recorded at least a point in all three games he played in over the weekend in Amarillo’s sweep over Colorado. Ivey, a native of San Diego, CA, added an assist on Friday night’s 5-1 win. The following night, the forward posted a goal and an assist where the Wranglers took game two, 8-4. In the final game of the three-in-three series, the Army-West Point commit posted two goals in the Wranglers 5-2 win. Ivey has played in 53 games this season where he has combined for 48 points. “"We are thrilled to celebrate Jack's significant achievement of reaching the 30-goal milestone this season,” Owner and President Austin Sutter, who is serving as the Wrangler’s Interim Head Coach said. “Scoring in the competitive South Division is not easy, and Jack's accomplishment is a testament to his talent and dedication. His consistent approach to each game has not only earned him this accolade but also demonstrates the caliber of player he is developing into. We couldn't be prouder of the season Jack is having.”
