The Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are excited to announce that defenseman Grady Gallatin has announced his commitment to play NCAA Division I Hockey for Western Michigan University in the NCHC.

Gallatin, 19, is playing his first season with the Jets and in the NAHL. The White Bear Lake, Minnesota native joined the Jets right after the 2023 NAHL Showcase and has played a consistent role on Janesville’s blueline. Since his debut on September 22nd, Gallatin has appeared in 37 games, logging three goals and 14 assists for 17 points. His NAHL debut was one to remember as he recorded his first career goal against the Anchorage Wolverines in a 7-3 win in Alaska.

“I am proud and honored to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey and further my education at Western Michigan University. I’d like to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and everyone else who has helped me get to this point,” said Gallatin.

Prior to playing in the NAHL, Gallatin played all four years for his hometown White Bear Lake High School. In late October of 2022, he also made two appearances for the Granite City Lumberjacks of the NA3HL where he tallied two assists.

“We are very excited for Grady and his family on his commitment to Western Michigan. Grady is a first-class person and attacks every day like a pro. He has continued to improve his game day by day and still has a very high ceiling for development. He has proven he’s not only a top defenseman on our team, but in the entire league,” said Joe Dibble, head coach and general manager of the Janesville Jets.

For Gallatin, he becomes the 14th player from the Jets roster committed to playing NCAA Division I hockey. He will be joining fellow Midwest Division’s Camden Shasby (Anchorage Wolverines) at Western Michigan to play under Pat Ferschweiler.
