Bismarck forward Beaumont makes NCAA DI Commitment

February 27, 2024

The Bismarck Bobcats of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Julian Beaumont has announced his commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey at Robert Morris University in the Atlantic Hockey Conference.

“I am super excited to announce my commitment to further my education and play Division 1 hockey at Robert Morris University. I want to thank all of my family, friends, teammates, and coaches who have helped me to get here,” said Beaumont.

Beaumont, 20, is playing his 2nd season with the Bobcats and 2nd in the NAHL. The Allen, Texas native joined the Bobcats last season where he recorded 14 goals and 24 assists in 58 games. This season, he has been an integral part of Bismarck’s roster and position in the Central Division standings, nearly on a point-per-game pace. Through 41 games played so far, the 5’8/161 lbs. forward has tallied 36 points (15 goals, 21) assists. Those 15 goals place him 2nd on the Bobcats in goalscoring, and he also sits 6th on the Bismarck roster with a +14 rating.

“Julian has developed into a great player in his time here in Bismarck, he’s become a guy that has always been an offensive threat to a guy that is now a great 200ft player and that is a big reason he will have such in college hockey,” said Layne Sedevie, head coach and general manager of the Bismarck Bobcats.

Recently, Beaumont was selected to participate in the 2024 Top Prospects Tournament in Cranberry Township. There, he represented Team Central, who went 2-0 without allowing a goal from their opponents. He has previously been called up to the Fargo Force of the USHL, including playing in the playoffs for them last season. Before playing in the NAHL, Beaumont developed his game with Gilmour Academy and the Dallas Stars Elite program.

He becomes the 13th Bobcat committed to playing Division 1 Hockey and the 2nd to commit to Robert Morris University. He will join teammate and captain Patrick Johnson as well as four other current NAHLers to play under Derek Schooley at RMU.
