Rochester forward Disipio makes NCAA DI Commitment
The Rochester Jr. Americans of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Matteo Disipio has announced his commitment to play NCAA Division I Hockey for Mercyhurst University in the Atlantic Hockey Conference.
“I’m honoured and proud to announce my commitment to further my education and play Division 1 hockey at Mercyhurst University. I’d like to thank my family, teammates, friends, and coaches for all their support along the way,” said Disipio.
Disipio, 20, is playing his fourth season of junior hockey and first in the NAHL. The Nepean, Ontario native has been a force on the offensive end for Rochester, tallying 18 goals and 39 assists in 45 games so far this season. Those 57 points place him first on the Jr. Americans roster and 3rd across the entire NAHL.
Disipio was selected to and participated in the 2024 Top Prospects Tournament in Pennsylvania. In two games playing for Team East, he dished two assists.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, he spent two seasons in the OJHL and played youth hockey for the Brockville Braves and Nepean Raiders. He becomes the 8th Jr. American NCAA Division I committed player.
