Lone Star goalie Rolovs makes NCAA DI commitment
The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) proudly announce that goalie Deivs Rolovs has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Niagara University in the Atlantic Hockey Conference.
Rolovs, 19, is playing his first season in the NAHL and first playing hockey in North America. Originally from Riga, Latvia, the 6’2 netminder joined the Brahmas this season after playing his previous years in his home country. So far this season, Rolovs has appeared in 26 games for the South Division leaders, posting an impressive 1.68 goals against average and .923 save percentage. Those statistics rank him amongst the best in the NAHL, ranking top 15 in save percentage and 2nd only behind his partner Jack Wieneke in GAA.
“I’m very excited and honoured to announce my commitment to play NCAA D1 hockey and further my education at Niagara University! I would like to thank my family, teammates, coaches, friends and all of those who helped me along the way!” said Rolovs.
Rolovs was selected to participate and represent his country at the 2024 World Junior Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden. There, he appeared in 4 games and picked up his first World Juniors win against Germany on December 30th, 2023.
He joins the evergrowing group of committed players on the Brahmas roster, bringing their Division I total to seven.
