The New Mexico of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Francois Devilliers has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Air Force Academy in the Atlantic Hockey Conference.
“I would like to give thanks to my family, coaches, and teammates who have helped me in the process of my commitment to Air Force Academy. I also appreciate the Culver Academies hockey program for giving me the right foundation to play at the next level, and the New Mexico Ice Wolves for giving me a good role for my development to play DI hockey,” said Devilliers.
Devilliers, 18, is playing his first season with the Ice Wolves and first full season of junior hockey. The Irvine, California native made a combined six appearances in the USHL in the previous two seasons and has since joined New Mexico for a full year of development in the NAHL so far. Through 30 games so far, the 5’11/170 lbs defenseman has tallied a pair of goals and 10 assists for 12 points. In mid-December Devilliers had goals in back-to-back games against the El Paso Rhinos and Oklahoma Warriors.
“Francois is an exceptional defenseman who made an immediate impact during his rookie season here in New Mexico. We’re excited to see what he will accomplish at Air Force as he continues his hockey career,” said Phil Fox, head coach of the New Mexico Ice Wolves.
Devilliers is the seventh player on the New Mexico roster committed to playing NCAA Division I hockey.
